We needed a dependable and extensible method to receive and process instant order notifications (IONs) from outside sources (websites), namely Snowcovered (Portal Store) and DotNetNuke Marketplace (ASP Store Front with Marketlink). In short, we wanted to create accounts and assign roles with expirations on our portal the same way we do when we sell products in our own store. Further, we wanted to send emails to our customers when they bought something from us regardless of the website they purchased it on. So we created Vendor Connections (VC).
