The DNNSpired Portal Traffic Director is designed to handle multiple ways your website will need redirection. The Portal Traffic Director can be used as a standard redirector; it will redirect all users to a specified page on your site, a custom link or and specific file. The Portal Traffic Director can be configured to redirect Always, with 301 Permanent redirect, time delayed, and based on URL, Referral, IP Range, Role, User, Browser, Language, cookie and Portal Alias.
Every website can benefit from using the DNNSpired Portal Traffic Director. Whether you need a simple redirection based on specific browser or controlling multiple email advertsing campaigns.
The Portal Traffic Director uses DNN's built in URL tracking, allowing you to decide if you want to log the number of redirects or even down to the time the redirects occured. The director can be configured to direct users using the same window or in a new window. Each redirection can be configured to use a default setting for all roles and users or individually set.
Always Use Default Log and New Window Settings – All role and user based redirection will use the same settings as the default redirect. These include “Opening page in New Window”, “Logging of Redirection”, and new to Version 4.3 “Permanent Redirect” and “Pause”
Permanent Redirect – Checking this box will cause the redirector to redirect using a permanent Redirect. This sends html to web spiders to update there file indexes. Note: Using a Permanent Redirect will disable the option to open a page in a new window, and it will disable the pause before redirect feature.
Pause Before Redirect – entering a value here will cause the redirector to redirect after the set number of seconds. For example, entering a “5” the redirector will pause for 5 seconds before redirecting the user or opening the page in a new window.
